Americans Want Timetable or Withdrawal

(angus reid) - Many adults in the United States believe the coalition effort should come to an end soon, according to a poll by Harris Interactive. 40 per cent of respondents would set a timetable for the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, and 20 per cent say all soldiers should return now.

Conversely, 28 per cent think more troops should be sent to Iraq for a few months to stabilize the situation, up three points since March. The coalition effort against Saddam Hussein’s regime was launched in March 2003.
