(newsday) - Rudy Giuliani may be America's Mayor, but a new poll says he's lost ground in his home state of New York.
A Siena College Research Institute Poll released Monday found the former New York City mayor trails Sen. John McCain by 12 points in the upcoming New York state presidential primary. In a statement, Siena poll spokesman Steven Greenberg called Guiliani's swooning popularity numbers "a stunning turnaround."
"John McCain has turned a 33-point deficit with Republican voters in December into a 12-point lead over Rudy Giuliani today," Greenberg said, adding that the former mayor "is getting beat by McCain in the suburbs and trounced upstate."
