Obama Leads McCain by Three Points in Iowa |

(Angus Reid) - Voters in the Hawkeye State express a slight preference for Democrat Barack Obama in the 2008 United States presidential election, according a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 44 per cent of respondents would vote for the Illinois senator, while 41 per cent would back Republican Arizona senator John McCain.
In a separate contest, McCain holds a 10-point lead over New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
In 2004, Republican George W. Bush carried Iowa’s seven electoral votes, with 50 per cent of all cast ballots. No GOP nominee had carried the Hawkeye State since Ronald Reagan in 1984.
Bush is ineligible for a third term in office. The U.S. presidential election is scheduled for Nov. 4.
