Is John McCain a fool or a fraud?
Saturday, 05 April 2008
(PollSmoking.com) - A couple John McCain clips seem to have McCain calling himself either a fool or a fraud. Remember McCain joking about bombing Iran. Well just the other day he said "Only a fool or a fraud sentimentalizes the merciless reality of war".

It may be a stretch but, when he joked about bombing Iran and comparing it to an old song, it sure as hell sounded like he was sentimentalizing to me. CLICK TO LISTEN - MP3

So, is he a fool or a fraud?

Remember Condaliza Rice's face when she recently took office and the name Ossama Bin Lauden came up...her face could not hide the fact that she had no clue who they were talking about. Her and McCain would be unstoppable in a country that loves to elect idiots!

Merriam Webster, m-w.com states sentiment is a romantic or nostalgic feeling. I know it's a fake song but when he happily says "that old Beach Boy Song" it sure as hell sounds like he's trying to be nostalgic to me.

Change that last sentence to, "...but that was NOT sentimentalizing".

I'm no McCain fan, but you're not doing anyone any favors by trying to find a contradiction in these two statements. Sentimentalizing war is claiming that it is romantic, or talking about how great and noble it is while sending other people's children to fight it. This is not to justify his bomb Iran comment, but that was sentimentalizing.
