Vermont U.S. Senate: Sanders 55%, Tarrant 40% |

(angus reid) - Bernard Sanders could become one of Vermont’s representatives to the United States Senate, according to the latest poll by American Research Group. 55 per cent of respondents in the Green Mountain State would vote for the independent candidate, while 40 per cent would support Republican Richard Tarrant.
Sanders has been Vermont’s at-large member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 1991. After independent U.S. senator Jim Jeffords announced his retirement from the upper house, Sanders launched his bid for the Senate seat. The independent candidate has been endorsed by several Democrats, including Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman Howard Dean and Senate minority leader Harry Reid.
