Maine Governor: Baldacci 44%, Woodcock 39%

(anugs reid) - Incumbent John Baldacci is leading in the Pine Tree State’s gubernatorial race, according to the latest poll by Survey USA. 44 per cent of respondents in Maine would vote for Baldacci, while 39 per cent would support Republican Chandler Woodcock. A mid-September poll by Rasmussen Reports also gave Baldacci a five-point advantage over Woodcock.

Baldacci—a Democrat—was elected in the November 2002 election, defeating Republican challenger Peter Ciachette with 47 per cent of the vote. Baldacci took over on January 2003 from independent Angus King, who was ineligible for a third consecutive term in office. Read More
