Maine Governor: Baldacci 42%, Woodcock 34%

(angus reid) - Incumbent John Baldacci is leading in the Pine Tree State’s gubernatorial race, according to the latest poll by SurveyUSA. 42 per cent of respondents in Maine would vote for Baldacci, while 34 per cent would support Republican Chandler Woodcock. A mid-October survey by Rasmussen Reports gave Baldacci a 10-point advantage over Woodcock.

Baldacci—a Democrat—was elected in the November 2002 election, defeating Republican challenger Peter Ciachette with 47 per cent of the vote. Baldacci took over on January 2003 from independent Angus King, who was ineligible for a third consecutive term in office. Read More
