New Jersey U.S. Senate: Menendez 49%, Kean 44% |

(angus reid) - Robert Menendez is leading in the race for one of New Jersey’s seats in the United States Senate, according to the latest poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. 49 per cent of respondents in the Garden State would vote for the Democrat, while 44 per cent would support Republican Tom Kean. A late October survey by Research 2000 gave Menendez a six-point edge over Menendez.
In the November 2005 gubernatorial election, Jon Corzine—a Democrat—defeated Republican candidate Doug Forrester with 54 per cent of all cast ballots. Corzine had served as New Jersey’s junior senator since 2001. Menendez will serve out the remaining one year of Corzine’s Senate term. Read More
