Republicans 2008: Giuliani Leads McCain by Eight

(angus reid) - Rudy Giuliani is topping the list of presidential hopefuls for Republican Party sympathizers in the United States, according to a poll by TNS released by the Washington Post and ABC News. 34 per cent of respondents would support the former New York City mayor in a 2008 primary.

Arizona senator John McCain is second with 26 per cent, followed by former House of Representatives speaker Newt Gingrich with 12 per cent, and Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney with five per cent. Support is lower for New York governor George Pataki, former Wisconsin governor Tommy Thompson, Kansas senator Sam Brownback, and California congressman Duncan Hunter. Read More
