19% See McCain as Next President, 17% Clinton |

(rasmussen) - Nineteen percent (19%) of American voters say that Senator John McCain (R) is likely to be the next President of the United States. A Rasmussen Reports survey of 800 Likely Voters found that 17% believe Senator Hillary Clinton (D) will be our next President and three other contenders are tied for third in the expectations game at 14%--former North Carolina Senator John Edwards (D), former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R), and Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D). No other candidate reaches double digits.
Fifty-two percent (52%) of Republicans believe that either McCain or Giuliani will win the White House—26% for each man. Among Democrats, 30% expect a Clinton victory followed by both Edwards and Obama at 17%. Thirteen percent (13%) of Democrats expect McCain to emerge victorious. Read More
