Republicans 2008: Giuliani 31%, McCain 27%

(angus reid) - Rudy Giuliani is holding on to the top spot as the favourite presidential hopeful for Republican Party sympathizers in the United States, according to a poll by Gallup released by USA Today. 31 per cent of respondents would vote for the former New York City mayor in a 2008 primary.

Arizona senator John McCain is second with 27 per cent, followed by former House of Representatives speaker Newt Gingrich with 10 per cent, and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney with seven per cent. Read More
