GOP Race Close, Hillary Leads in New Hampshire |

(angus reid) - John McCain and Rudy Giuliani are the main presidential contenders for Republican Party backers in the Granite State, according to a poll by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. 27 per cent of likely GOP primary voters would support the Arizona senator in the 2008 United States primary, while 27 per cent would vote for the former New York City mayor.
Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is third with 13 per cent, followed by former House of Representatives speaker Newt Gingrich with nine per cent. Support is lower for Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo, Kansas senator Sam Brownback, Texas congressman Ron Paul, Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, former Wisconsin governor Tommy Thompson, Nebraska senator Chuck Hagel, and former New York governor George Pataki.
